The Dubai International Chamber has facilitated the entry of UAE-based Mars Food Industries into the Ethiopian market, marking the company’s first foray into Africa. The chamber helped secure a deal for Mars’ Miralac brand of baby food products to be marketed and distributed by Tana Ekt Trading in Ethiopia.
This move caters to the growing demand for nutritious, ready-made baby food in Ethiopia, driven by the nation’s young population. The agreement was facilitated through introductions made at the Dubai Business Forum and culminated in a signing ceremony hosted by the Dubai Chamber.
“We are committed to supporting the expansion of Dubai companies into promising international markets,” said His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. “This success reflects the high standards and competitiveness of UAE industries.”
Mars Food Industries sieht strong potential for growth in Africa and plans to expand to key markets like Nigeria, Rwanda, and Mozambique. “Our goal is to contribute to a healthier future by providing affordable, high-quality baby food,” said Abdulrahman Alameri, CEO of Miralac’s parent company.
Dubai International Chamber, with its network of seven representative offices across Africa, plays a crucial role in connecting UAE businesses with international opportunities. This aligns with the Dubai Global initiative’s goal of establishing a global network and assisting Dubai-based companies in exploring new markets.
