Washington D.C. – Residents of Washington D.C. celebrated the 49th Anniversary of the 17th Anniversary of the Tigray People’s Liberation Struggle and the Birth of the TPLF on February 11th .
In a Zoom message, Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Chairman of the TPLF, highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by the Tigrayan people. He acknowledged the efforts made by the Tigrayan diaspora in advocating for the people of Tigray and expressed concern about the continued displacement and lack of assistance for those affected by the conflict.
Dr. Gebremichael emphasized the importance of maintaining unity in the face of attempts to disrupt and divide the Tigrayan community. He warned against external forces seeking to exploit internal divisions and urged for resolving issues through dialogue and collaboration.
The Chairman also addressed the implementation of the Pretoria Agreement, stating that he has initiated discussions with the Ethiopian government and the African Union to address outstanding concerns. He reiterated the TPLF’s commitment to ensuring the survival and security of the Tigrayan people and called for collective action to safeguard their interests.
