Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Finance Minister Ahmed Shide met with visiting US officials, focusing on Ethiopia’s economic situation,
reforms, and post-conflict recovery.

Shide briefed Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly Fee and Horn of Africa Special Envoy Mike Hamer on Ethiopia’s ongoing macroeconomic reforms designed to spur growth and job creation.

The discussions, according to the Ministry of Finance, covered potential US support for these reforms, humanitarian aid in the aftermath of the Tigray conflict, and securing backing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.
This high-level engagement signals Ethiopia’s desire to strengthen its partnership with the United States during a critical period of reconstruction and economic recovery
