Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Gospel Believers Council of Churches (EGBC) has emphasized the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions for lasting peace in Ethiopia.

During a prayer program held at Addis Ababa Cross Square, EGBC President Dr. Taswe Gebre urged all parties to prioritize peaceful options.

“Time and space should be given to dialogue for lasting peace in Ethiopia,” Dr. Gebre stressed.

Government officials, believers, religious leaders, and singers from various denominations participated in the program, offering prayers for peace, unity, and reconciliation. Children also performed spiritual songs.

Pastor Tsadku Abdo, President of the Union of Ethiopian Evangelical Churches, highlighted the importance of mutual respect and understanding for achieving unity and peace.

“Followers of faith must fulfill their roles according to the teachings of their faith,” he said.

Apostle Yohannes Girma, founder and chief pastor of the Exodus Apostolic Reformation Church, called for collective action to ensure peace.

“Everyone has a role to play,” Apostle Yohannes emphasized. “Peace is the only way to ensure progress.”

The EGBC’s program reflects a growing sentiment in Ethiopia, where many Ethiopians are calling for an end to conflict and a renewed focus on peaceful dialogue.
