Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is visiting Egypt after 12 years as the president arrived in Cairo, he was received by his Egyptian counterpart, Abdelfattah al-Sisi.
It is remembered that diplomatic relations between the two countries were severed after Al-Sisi overthrew former President Mohamed Morsi in a coup d’état.
It is not to be forgotten that Erdoğan and Al-Sisi, who shook hands with “football diplomacy” at the World Cup in Qatar, started to renew the relations between the countries by appointing ambassadors last year.
Erdogan’s visit to Cairo, which began the day after he agreed to sell drones to Egypt, is said to show that relations that have been strained for 10 years are rapidly being renewed.
It has been stated that the leaders of the countries who have taken the same position against Israel’s strikes in Gaza will be the main agenda of their discussion.
