Mogadishu Attack Claims Lives of UAE, Bahraini and Somali Officers

Five military officers, including three from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), one from Bahrain, and one from Somalia, were tragically killed in an attack on a military camp in Mogadishu on Saturday afternoon.

The attacker, identified as a new trainee soldier named Ahmed, opened fire while officers were praying. He was reportedly shot dead during the incident and two others, a military officer and a hospital worker, were injured.

Al-Shabaab, a militant group affiliated with Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming 17 casualties.

The UAE government condemned the “terrorist” attack and confirmed the presence of their officers on a training mission.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud condemned the attack and expressed gratitude to the fallen officers for their sacrifice in fighting terrorism
