Mekelle, Ethiopia – Aklilu Tadese, CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), announced the resumption of production activities at the Mekelle Industrial Park.
“Following a period of closure due to the conflict in the northern region,” Tadese said, “the Mekelle Industrial Park Corporation has recommenced operations today thanks to significant efforts and focus.”
The CEO highlighted that existing manufacturers are finalizing pre-investment activities to pave the way for new investors to begin production. The IPDC is actively supporting companies in their return to production.
“While progress is underway,” Tadese added, “full capacity at the park remains our ultimate goal. We call on all stakeholders to collaborate closely in these efforts to enhance efficiency and create an attractive investment environment.”
Spanning 238 hectares, the Mekelle Industrial Park launched operations in 2017. The IPDC reports that 15 production sheds and additional land are available for investors.
