The Kenyan government has announced plans to remove the electronic payment requirement for Ethiopian citizens applying for Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
This means Ethiopians can now enter Kenya visa-free, as long as they complete the online eTA form before arrival.
This decision comes after criticism surrounding Kenya’s recent visa waiver for all foreigners, which was implemented with additional requirements that caused difficulties for some travelers, including Ethiopians.
The change is a positive step for Ethio-Kenyan relations, coinciding with the ongoing Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting in Addis Ababa. This meeting aims to strengthen political, economic, and social ties between the two countries and address border issues.
