The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) actively pursued peace initiatives throughout strengthen efforts towards enhancing peace .
Their efforts focused on expanding peace education, advocating for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), and fostering collaboration with civil society organizations internationally.
Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE) sessions were conducted in Mongolia, Zambia, and online for individual participants.
In Mongolia, 91 students successfully graduated through online education.
A Zambian participant expressed her enthusiasm about gaining knowledge to create positive change in her community.
A Yemeni journalist completing PLTE online underscored the significance of peace education beginning at the individual level.
The Australian branch spearheaded a campaign in Melbourne to raise awareness about the DPCW and collect signatures.
IWPG convened its 2024 opening meeting, bringing together regional staff and peace committee representatives.
Peace committee representatives from India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan outlined their plans for 2024, encompassing peace conferences, art competitions, and cultural activities.
IWPG branches in Chennai, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Japan organized meetings and events centered on peace education and networking.
Global Region 7 hosted a “Women Focus Forum” with participants from 11 countries, fostering discussions on peace education and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Global Region 2 conducted a welcoming event for new members from 20 countries, introducing IWPG’s endeavors and encouraging collaboration.
The Colombian branch conferred with a lawyer and Peace Ambassador to explore hosting the 6th International Loving-Peace Art Competition.
IWPG’s January activities exemplify the organization’s unwavering dedication to promoting peace education, advocating for the DPCW, and establishing a global network of peace advocates.
