Addis Ababa, February 7, 2016 (FBC) Germany has taken over the status of the world’s third largest econopmy from Japan.
Following this, the countries with the largest economies in the world have become America, China and Germany respectively.
Japan has become the fourth largest economy ahead of Germany, which was ranked third, according to The Guardian.
Japan’s gross domestic product was 4.2 trillion dollars last year, compared to 4.5 trillion dollars in Germany.
It has been pointed out that the depreciation of the Japanese currency “Yen” is a big reason for Germany to become the world’s third largest economy.
The report also recalled that Japan was the world’s second largest economy until 2010 when it was usurped by China.
