“Ethiopia’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Taye Atske Selassie, has condemned the deadly attack in Mogadishu, Somalia, urging regional states to unite against the persistent threat of terrorism.

The attack, targeting military officers at the General Gordon base, claimed by al-Shabab militants, underscores the vulnerability of the region and the need for collective action.

Taye  expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and the Somali government, reiterating Ethiopia’s commitment to regional security.

This attack serves as a stark reminder of the importance of coordinated efforts to combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace in the Horn of Africa.”
