The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has concluded the initial phase of its work and is now moving towards the crucial agenda gathering stage.
A statement issued by the Commission acknowledges extensive efforts undertaken thus far, including stakeholder meetings and regional consultations.
Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfen Araya confirms discussions held with 1,400 districts, encompassing all regions except Tigray. He clarifies that outstanding consultations in Tigray, Amhara, and select areas of Oromia will be concluded soon.
The next phase focuses on collecting agenda items from Ethiopian diaspora communities, both domestically and internationally.
Following agenda collection, a selection process will identify priority issues for focused consultations. Professor Araya emphasizes the commitment to an inclusive and participatory process.
To facilitate public engagement, the Commission has launched a toll-free call and text message service center (8112). This platform allows anyone to contribute ideas and potential agenda items.
