Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Uganda and Ethiopia have signed a new military cooperation agreement, aiming to further strengthen their bilateral relations and collaboration on various defense matters.

The agreement, signed by Ugandan Defense Minister Vicente Bamulangaki Sempige and his Ethiopian counterpart Dr. Abraham Belay, encompasses several key areas including the two nations will share information to regional security and other relevant military matters, both countries to enhance each other’s military capabilities through training and resource exchange.

The agreement emphasizes joint efforts towards peaceful solutions to regional challenges and ensuring mutual benefits.

Dr. Abreham expressed confidence that the agreement will significantly strengthen Ethio-Ugandan relations, while Minister Sempige pledged Uganda’s commitment to its implementation.

The agreement also establishes a framework for collaboration on internal military matters, including the implementation of disciplinary documents within the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.

This latest development highlights the growing partnership between Ethiopia and Uganda in addressing regional security concerns and signifies their commitment to fostering peace and stability.
