African Union Summit Opens in Addis Ababa Today, Tackling Education and Key Development Issues

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia  – The 37th African Union Summit kicks off today in Addis Ababa, bringing together leaders from across the continent to discuss critical issues facing Africa. Under the theme “Educating an African fit for the 21st Century,” the summit will prioritize expanding access to quality education and building resilient education systems.


Beyond education, the agenda spans a wide range of pressing topics, including addressing ongoing conflicts and promoting stability across the continent, boosting intra-African trade and enhancing infrastructure development, strengthening the AU’s capacity and effectiveness, ensuring food security and adapting to climate challenges,protecting fundamental rights and promoting good governance, and nsuring equal opportunities and access to resources for all.


High-level participation is expected, with leaders from various countries and heads of institutions already arriving in Addis Ababa. The summit promises to be a crucial platform for collaboration and concrete action towards a more prosperous and peaceful Africa
