Addis Ababa Announces Road Closures for African Union Summit

In anticipation of the upcoming African Union Summit, the Addis Ababa Police Commission has released a list of roads that will be closed to vehicular traffic from tomorrow until the conclusion of the event. The closures aim to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and enhance security during the summit.

Affected Routes:

Parliament Lamp – Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Cross Square Flamingo – Omlopia – Wolo Sefer – Japan Embassy – Friend Ship – Bole Ring Road – Airport

Parliament Lamp – Ministry of Foreign Affairs – National Palace – Hot Spring – National Theater – Mexico Square – African Union Hall

Parliament Lamp – National Palace – Friendship Park – Commercial Printing House – Monarch Hotel – Theodore Square – Black Lion Hospital – Ethiopia Television – National Theater – Mexico Square

Sheraton Hotel – Around the fountain and Ambassador Theater (downhill from Parliament Lamp)

Chamber of Commerce – Main gate of the Sudan Embassy – African Union – Sarbet (in both directions)

Parking Restrictions:

Starting from tomorrow, parking will be strictly prohibited on both sides of the affected roads for the duration of the summit.

Alternative Routes:
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid congestion and delays. The Addis Ababa Police Commission encourages the public to cooperate with security measures and urges anyone with information to contact them through the provided hotlines.
