Mekelle, Ethiopia – A high-level delegation led by Ethiopia’s Planning and Development Minister, Dr. Fitsum Assefa Adela, visited Mekelle for talks on reconstruction efforts in the Tigray region.
Upon arrival, the delegation was greeted by Deputy Chief Minister Tsadkan, who heads the region’s interim administration.
General Tsadkan highlighted the extensive damage inflicted on Tigray during the conflict and emphasized the urgent need for reconstruction.
In his address, Minister Dr. Fitsum acknowledged the war’s severe socio-economic impact and confirmed its inclusion in the national reconstruction plan.
The visit aimed to establish a collaborative framework for reconstruction with Tigray’s interim administration.
The delegation received a presentation outlining planned reconstruction projects from the regional Planning and Development Commission. Various interim administration officials participated in the discussions.
